Scanwel, leading provider of expert solutions in vacuum, surface and nanoscience technology, is pleased to announce the acquisition of Palatine Precision Ltd.

With over 50 years of design and manufacturing experience, Palatine Precision is a UK based manufacturer of Edge Welded Bellows technologies. Used for Ultra High Vacuum sealing requirements, this product complements the Scanwel portfolio.

Palatine and Scanwel have worked within the same industry sectors, such as aerospace, nuclear, scientific, defence, medical, academia, research for many years and offer their customers many complementary solutions.

Graham Thomas, who has owned and successfully run Palatine for over 50 years, has sold the business and from December 2021, Palatine becomes part of the Scanwel group. He explains: “It was very important to me to find a company that would ensure the ongoing sustainability of Palatine, following my recent decision to retire. I am delighted that we have been able to secure the deal with Scanwel.”

The business structure will remain the same for Scanwel and Palatine, with all Palatine employees transferring over, ensuring a seamless transition to the group.”

Over the last 12 months, Scanwel has been focusing on expanding capacity and positioning itself for growth. The coming together of the two businesses means that Palatine will benefit from the improved levels of customer service and back-office capability that the business has developed.
